INTERNET USE TIPS

When using the Internet in our PreK Program, teachers should always preview a site for its content and make sure that it is age appropriate for the students they are teaching.  Be especially careful with sites that also include adverstising.  If a site appears to have links to content which is intended for students that are older than you are teaching or for adults, please look for an alternative site that doesn’t include that.

Make sure when you are seaching for sites that you clearly include the words PreK in your search terms.

When searching for images, you will need to be careful that the images are not copyright protected, and that they aren’t clickable (meaning if you click on them they will take you to another site)  Many clickable images contain computer viruses using steganography.  The site below is a good site for safe images to use in the classroom.
